1. Our Commitment to Privacy

Airlink is built on the principle of absolute privacy. Unlike traditional messaging apps, Airlink is fully decentralized and operates without central servers. This means we do not, and cannot, collect your personal data, chat history, or metadata.

2. No Data Collection

We do not collect any personally identifiable information (PII). This includes:

• No Phone Numbers required.
• No Email Addresses required.
• No Contact Lists uploaded.
• No Location Tracking on our servers (since there are no servers).

3. End-to-End Encryption

All communication within the Airlink mesh network is protected by the Signal Protocol. Your messages are encrypted on your device and can only be decrypted by the intended recipient. Any intermediate nodes relaying your message see only encrypted blobs of data.

4. Local Data Storage

Your messages, cryptographic keys, and profile information are stored exclusively on your device. Airlink does not have a "cloud backup" feature, ensuring that you are the sole owner of your data. If you delete the app or lose your device, your data is permanently gone unless you have made your own manual backup.

5. Mesh Networking Transparency

By using Airlink, your device may act as a node in the mesh network, relaying encrypted messages for other users. This process is anonymous and does not expose your identity or your own private data to the users whose messages you are relaying.

6. Open Source Auditability

As an open-source project, our code is available for public inspection on GitHub. This transparency allows anyone to verify that our implementation matches our privacy promises.
